about us

Slime and Pies create work that interrogates our political and social landscape through unique theatrical forms. Our plays use absurdism and magical realism to inject the fringe theatre scene with “ambitious” new writing.

Since forming in 2022, we’ve developed 7 new plays and collaborated with 46 artists across different disciplines. We were hailed as “one of the most promising emerging companies in the off-west end circuit” in a review that celebrated our use of creative captioning.

Slime and Pies have committed to creatively captioning every public performance of our productions. A core principle of our company is to continually develop and improve our access provisions, collaborating with partners and creatives who are pioneers in this field.

Our previous projects include; the “intriguingly supernatural, infuriatingly realistic” Sima at The Drayton Arms, an R&D at The Traverse with Ellen Bannerman’s: Kill the Second Coming with Slime and Pies (shortlisted for the Charlie Harthill award), WIP sharing of The Interview by Eleanor Roberts, at the Blue Elephant and developing Knit Your Own Boyfriend as part of London Performance Studio’s seeding space Residency.

As a company, it is one of our primary aims to support emerging artists. We formed to give ourselves a voice in an industry that increasingly favours already established names. We look to showcase the potential of new talent with a commitment to high-quality work and shining a light on unseen artists.

Slime and Pies are currently Associate Artists at the Pleasance Theatre.
